44. new song

I'm learning the lyrics to a new song because I heard it played on the guitar and someone I like likes the song. I will attempt to recite the lyrics from memory: I love you but I can't remember why Stars falling from a high forgotten sky I was a one-line wonder in my own love song I keep a little journal by my bed Dreams help me find the words I haven't said Like when a little girlie said goodbye to me From behind a screen door I won't see her again I'm sure Didn't I say I need you I tried to move on but I can't I tried to think of bad times Good memories are all I have I love you but I can't remember why And I'd love to find a reason to deny I was a one-hit wonder in my own hometown I guess that I have made a few mistakes But maybe that's exactly what it takes To get a little happy in this big sad world How many have you made And which of those have you laid on down to die Didn't I say I n...

43. door decorating

Image
I got a Halloween care package from one of my mom's co-workers, filled with decorations, sweets, and even two pairs of socks. I absolutely love getting into the holiday spirit so my roommate and I used the materials and decorated not only our door but the booth right next to us where we always sit. We have borders, stickers, witches, bats, hand-drawn skulls, pumpkins, spider webs, banners, and a mask from the movie Happy Death Day. Now it makes me happy every time I walk up to our door. I also decorated cupcakes to make little faces. Happy Halloween! Now I just need to come up with a Halloween costume... always with love, Bella Montague

42. bad liar

Image
These are costumes I made for a show called The Liar. It was a commedia dell'arte play, so the costumes were really fun, and the whole experience was challenging but rewarding. I designed the diamond pattern of the vest one the Arlecchino character. I made some Zanni hats for the ensemble characters. always with love, Bella Montague

41. humming

I started to get sick (again) about a week ago. I actually have a theory that my body knows when I'm about to get kissed (or asked for a kiss) and makes me start to get sick. At the beginning of the year, I woke up sick one day, and I was asked for a kiss by two different guys (it was a strange day, that's not how most of them go; also, I declined both.) And last week, I woke up sick again, and sure enough was asked to be kissed by someone. Anyway, about two days ago, I was having trouble sleeping, because I would keep coughing, which would make me wake up. It's frustrating and tiring, especially since sleep deprivation is what got me sick in the first place. The next day, my roommate told me that she couldn't sleep either, not because of my coughing, but because of my humming. Humming? This confused the hell out of me. According to her, I was humming in my sleep between every cough. This was weird to me, because I've never done this before, and I was under the i...

40. Eulogy

Our new creative assignment has us writing our own Eulogies, which reminds me of one time I did something kind of like that. In my 8th grade English class, we got an assignment to write a eulogy to someone and present it to the class. I think this assignment was to help us be very personal in our writing and to help us speaking in front of an audience when we are emotional. Some people did someone they loved that might have died and it was very hard to watch. My friend Nora and I, on the other hand, decided to do eulogies on each other. We basically made a PowerPoint consisting of a bunch of photos of us and just wrote eulogies as if she died, but then it turns out she actually wasn't dead, and then I died. She wanted the song "Good Riddance" by Green Day to be playing, and while it's a good song, I thought the title of it might be a little inappropriate for a funeral. I think it speaks to my friend group at the time that while everyone did serious eulogies, my friend...
